WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Tween Dance Inclusive classes are for ages 10-13.

Adult Dance Inclusive classes are for ages 14 +.

All types of neurodivergence and different-ability are welcome. Individuals who are successful at the following will thrive in the class environment:

  • Can follow and replicate simple movement

  • Can operate independently

  • Are comfortable being in a group setting

  • Are not over-stimulated by loud music

Movement-challenged, assistance-required and easily-stimulated individuals are still welcomed and encouraged to join class, but they might face hardships and may require a longer transition period to acclimate themselves with the space, their peers and the instructor.

WHAT IS CLASS LIKE?

Classes typically begin with a social circle where dancers get a chance to greet each other and socialize, followed by a warm up, gentle stretching, and creative expression/freestyle session .

Classes include technical instruction in Jazz and/or Hip Hop, choreography learning and retention, and performance preparation.

Class size limit is 12 dancers. Spots are filled on a first come first served basis. Once capacity is reached, a waitlist will open and individuals will be contacted should spots become available.

WHAT SHOULD DANCERS WEAR TO CLASS?

No special attire or footwear is required. Dancers will do best in what feels the most comfortable to them

We do ask that shoes worn outside are not worn in the studio in order to preserve our specialized dance flooring. Dancers are welcome to remove outside shoes upon arrival and dance in socks, or change to a clean pair of shoes they brought with them for class.

A closed water bottle is encouraged, but no other equipment is required. Transitional and soothing objects such as stuffed animals or fidget toys (that do not emit sounds) are welcome.
